777 Church Podcast

TJ moves into another direction. To discuss the purpose of how 777 is different. He discusses the difference of being saved and being sanctified. Assignment for the week: read Matt 2.

This week we get into the gospel of Matthew. The author was a tax collector. TJ likens him to a repo man. We read Matt 1 and study how Joseph was faithful. We read and answer the usual questions

TJ reviews last weeks message. He talks a little about how we will be studying the gospels. We read James 1:22 and how we shouldn't just study Gods word but do what it says. We need to understand that: we don't work to get saved; we get saved to do work. What are you totally given over to? Are there things that you struggle over? Have you given it over to God or are you wrestling it yourself? TJ has us read Gal 5:16-26 and write it down. We take notes and answer the following questions:
What does it say?
What does it mean to me?
How does it apply to me?

TJ discuss the meaning of Agape love. He asks how do you know you’re a disciple of Christ? TJ discusses how we grow as a community. We read 3 passages, split up into groups and discuss the questions.

What is something you noticed about agape?
What does that God tell you about God?
What was confusing?

Mike starts off the New Year discussing good news. The good news is also known as the Gospel. We read 1 Cor 15: 1-4. The versus tell how Jesus died, was buried and rose on third day. What’s the good news? It’s that Jesus is coming again. Mike does a quick over view of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
The questions we discuss are:
What does the gospel message mean to you?
How has the gospel message changed your life?

TJ talks about being on the offense. He brings Stevie and Stevie. He talks about how he came to 777 and how his life has changing. TJ discusses how we can’t have a goal with out a vision. We study through Matt, John, Heb and Phil. Steve and Chris come up and share recent events

TJ discusses how we are in war with many battles. The war we wage is spiritual and how we have victory in Christ. The battle we read about is the battle of Christmas. We read Matt 2 an discuss:
What do see about the character of Christ in Matt 2?
What battle have you fought lately?
How have you been victorious?

TJ reviews what we have gone over in Eph 6, spiritual warfare. This week we move on to Meditation. What do meditate on? We read Duet 6:4 and studied the 10 commandments. We get homework to study Joshua 1 and study the commandments. The questions we discuss are: What do you see about the character of Christ in the 10 commandments?
What do you see about your character in the 10 commandments?

As Christians we should be dedicated to learning, being a disciple. TJ brings up the message in Matt 28:19, how we are to go out and make disciples. It’s hard to learn about Jesus with out a hardcore commitment.
The questions we discuss are: What do you know about the teachings about of Christ?
How do these teachings apply today?

TJ gets back on track with Eph 6, Spiritual Warfare. He talks about how Peter changed from denying Christ to proclaiming him. He discusses how we are Christ’s representative or his ambassador. Kayla shares her testimony and gives a moving story of where she has come from. We are blessed with her message of how Christ has affected her life and the changes she has experienced.

With thanksgiving coming up this week, TJ touches on how unthankful people have become. He brings up the point of being thankful has to do with accepting the truth. The question we discuss was: What can we do today to reestablish an attitude of thankfulness?

Mike discusses how we pray. How should we pray? Do you tend to pray for others and not yourself? We discuss: How God has answered prayers in our lives and what we can pray about for each other.

This weeks service was a little different. TJ discusses singing. Instead of a discussion we group up and sing. TJ discusses the point of the message after.

TJ continues on with Eph 6 with the shield of faith. He discusses 8 expressions of faith: giving, singing, praying, proclaiming, learning, meditation, sharing and serving. We read out of various chapters of the bible and discuss giving. We read Heb 13 and discuss what worship we see and how can it apply in our lives.

TJ continues on this week on Eph 6. He brings up the promise of peace. We discuss how we get when we don't know the outcome of something stressful. TJ uses an example of how some fighters get nervous before competition. God has given us the outcome. TJ goes over the meaning o 777. The first 7 is for the completion of creation. The second 7 is for the completion of salvation. The third 7 is the completion of redemption or restoration.
The questions we discuss are : What normally brings you peace in your life and is it constant?
How can you apply the good news to your current circumstances?

TJ goes over last weeks message and how it ties in with this week’s message. We read Eph 6:10. We discuss how there is freedom with Christ and bondage by living by the law. TJ brings up 3 different kingdoms and what they stand for.
Babylon = Bondage
Egypt = Rebellion
Zion = Freedom
The questions we discuss are: What are the key differences between the 3 kingdoms?
How do see evidence if these kingdoms in today’s culture?
How have you experienced living in these Kingdoms?

We all have experienced pain. Have you ever thought of pain as the vehicle that drives you down the road of life? We read Matt 26 this week. We also discuss 2 different streets we can go down thru life 6th or 7th. 6th leads to death and 7th to eternal life.
The questions we discuss are:
What have you experienced going down 6th st?
What have you experienced going down 7th st?
What road are you going down now and why?

Jay gives a little of his background. He goes over the end of Gen 41 and how Joseph he was in jail, interpreted Pharaohs dreams and became a ruler. We read out of Gen 42 and how Jacob sent Josephs brothers to Egypt for food.
The questions we discuss are:
What is a trial from your past and what did God bring from it?
What is a current trial and how do you see God in it?
Does it matter if you know what the trials purpose is?

Mike opens with a big announcement that Becka is pregnant. Congratulations Mike and Becka!!!!! TJ gives us a message starting at Acts 2:36 and then going on to Eph4, 1 Cor 12:7, Rom 12:3 and then back to Acts 2. He stars explaining how the early church started. We read how the Holy Spirit blesses us with our spiritual gifts. Even if we have different gifts one isn’t more important than another. We all have a part in the church. TJ asks us to ask ourselves what is our gift?

Mike opens with the usual couple of questions:
What do you see about Gods character in the passages?
How has Christ moved you this week?
Mike adds the third question for this week: How has someone prayed for you and how did it affect your life. If you have never received prayer do you need it?

Mike reads out of Gen 18. We see how Abraham pleaded with God to not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.

Chris Self gives his powerful testimony on how he was lead to Christ. He discusses his past and the events that lead up to him accepting Christ. He tells us how his best friends prayed and pleaded with him to see the truth. He tells how it wasn’t till ran into his old worst enemy, that he broke down and gave in to Christ.
